Honey Lime Fruit Salad – This bright fresh salad brings a bit of sweet and sour to the table – a quick and easy side dish you can throw together in minutes!
It’s sunshiny and warm here and I am love.ing.it. Really makes me wanna have a picnic.
Of course my idea of a picnic is more… rustic? No lattice basket, no checkered tablecloth, no celery and peanut butter. Mostly because I hate celery. But also because my picnics consist of things like take-out on a jean quilt at a nearby park overlooking the saltiest body of water within the mainland 5-0. And honey lime fruit salad. Because really, it takes five seconds to throw together and pairs well with Cafe Rio take-out.
What I love about this fruit salad is that you can use just about any fruit you have on hand or is in season. Berries, apples, mangoes, peaches, grapes, bananas, it all works! The sweet creaminess of the honey and the tartness of the lime is perfect together – you’re gonna love this easy side dish!
Honey Lime Fruit Salad
- 6 cup 6 cups fresh fruit (I used red grapes, green apples, strawberries, peaches, bananas and kiwis - but use whatever you can get your hands on!)
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- Combine all fruit in a bowl. In a separate small bowl whisk together lime juice, honey, and brown sugar. Pour mixture over fruit and toss to coat. Chill until ready to serve. Enjoy!
