Blondie Sundaes with Creamy Maple Sauce

Chewy blonde brownies topped with a warm maple cream sauce makes the perfect combination for a delicious family dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • vanilla ice cream

Maple Sauce

  • ½ cup butter
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup pure maple syrup

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until combined. Mix in egg and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl to combine. 
  • Slowly add dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Press into a greased 8x8 pan and bake 20-25 minutes until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. 

Maple Sauce

  • Combine all ingredients and whisk over high medium-high heat until mixture is thick and creamy. Cream cheese should be completely incorporated with no chunks. 
  • Cut the blondies into squares. Top with warm maple sauce and vanilla ice cream. 

Notes

Store blondies in airtight container at room temperature. 
Store cream sauce in airtight container in fridge.
