Ingredients

  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon cracked black pepper, or to taste, (less if using ground black pepper)

optional additions

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2-3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • fresh squeezed lemon

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Arrange broccoli on a sheet pan. Drizzle with olive oil, toss to coat.
  • Rearrange broccoli so that it is in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Add optional ingredients now, if using.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until fork-tender and edges are crisp. Serve immediately.

Notes

Flavor tip: add a drizzle of balsamic glaze or a sprinkle of parmesan cheese just before serving.
