My Best Blue Cheese Dressing recipe is extra creamy and way better than store-bought! Use it as a dip for crudités and hot wings or toss it with your favorite salad!
Prep Time: 10 minutesminutes
Chilling Time: 30 minutesminutes
Total Time: 40 minutesminutes
Servings:1cup
Ingredients
¼cupsour cream
¼cuplight mayonnaise
¼cupbuttermilk
2ozblue cheese, crumbled
1tbspsnipped chives
1tbspfresh lemon juice
1tspgarlic powder
salt, to taste
cracked black pepper, to taste
milk, to thin, optional
Instructions
Combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, buttermilk, blue cheese, chives, lemon juice and garlic powder in a small bowl and beat with a fork, mashing the blue cheese crumbles into the dressing as you go until the consistency is smooth with just a bit of texture from the remaining cheese.
Season to taste with salt and pepper. It should now be a dipping consistency for crudités. For a thinner dressing, thin with milk as required.
Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to come together before serving.
Notes
Plain yogurt can be substituted for the buttermilk in a pinch.
For an entirely smooth dressing, blitz everything together in a blender or food processor, and stir in the snipped chives at the end.
This dressing keeps covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
