Chocolate & Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars

Sweet and salty chocolate and peanut butter cheerio bars - An easy to make breakfast or snack you can keep in the cupboard all week long!

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups multigrain peanut butter cheerios
  • 3/4 cups peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups peanut butter chips
  • optional: coarse sea salt

Instructions

  • Place cheerios in a large bowl. Line a 8x8 or 9x9 inch pan with nonstick foil.
  • Combine peanut butter, butter, syrup, and chocolate chips in a medium sauce pan and stir over medium heat until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  • Pour mixture over cheerios and stir to coat well. Transfer to prepared pan and press firmly to flatten. Preheat oven to 350. Sprinkle peanut butter chips over cheerio bars. Bake 2-3 minutes. Remove pan from oven, spread melty chips evenly with a rubber spatula or the back of a spoon. Immediately sprinkle coarse sea salt over the top of the bars if you have some.
  • Chill 4 hours. Remove from pan, cut into bars. Store in airtight container chilled or at room temperature up to 1 week.
