Fantasy Fudge

Fantasy Fudge, known for its rich and creamy texture, is the perfect treat or edible gift! This timeless dessert is chocolatey, creamy and oh-so-fluffy!

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ sticks butter
  • 3 cups sugar
  • cup evaporated milk
  • 12 oz 70% dark chocolate, chopped
  • 7 oz marshmallow fluff, or jet puffed marshmallow creme
  • ½ tbsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Line a 9x9 pan with a double layer of food wrap and set aside.
  • Measure the butter, sugar and evaporated milk into a large, heavy-bottomed saucepan or casserole dish. Set over a medium high heat and stir until the butter has melted the sugar has started to dissolve.
  • Keep heating the mixture until a sugar thermometer reaches the soft ball stage at 234F. Make sure you keep stirring the mixture to prevent the butter and sugar burning at the bottom.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the chocolate until it has all melted. Stir in the marshmallow fluff and vanilla until no streaks remain. 
  • Using a heatproof spatula, scrape the mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it out so the top is smooth. Don’t worry if you have a layer of melted butter separating on top of the fudge: this will disappear as it cools.
  • Cool the fudge completely at room temperature before slicing. 

Notes

The original Fantasy Fudge recipe uses semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped walnuts. If you prefer a sweeter fudge use semi-sweet chocolate instead. If you wish to add back in the walnuts, or even some chopped pecans, you’ll need 1 cup.
