Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries

These Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries are crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and incredibly easy to make. This foolproof air fryer sweet potato fries recipe uses simple ingredients and just a little oil to create perfectly seasoned, golden fries without deep frying or turning on the oven.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium sweet potatoes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp paprika
  • kosher salt

Instructions

  • Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into fries. Toss with the olive oil, garlic powder, paprika and a very generous amount of salt until they are well coated.
  • Air fry for 25-30 minutes at 355F, tossing regularly to make sure the fries cook and crisp evenly.

Notes

  • Avoid stacking! Fries need space for air to circulate, so cook in batches if needed. Overcrowding leads to steaming instead of crisping.
  • Cut evenly for best results. Thin fries will crisp faster, thicker fries will be softer inside. Just try to keep them uniform so they finish cooking at the same time.
  • Pat dry with paper towels before seasoning.
  • For extra crispy sweet potato fries, toss the cut fries with 1–2 teaspoons of cornstarch before adding oil and seasoning.
  • Toss halfway through the cooking process to make sure you are getting them crispy on all sides.
  • Salt at the end if needed. Sweet potatoes can handle more salt than you think, just taste them first before adding additional salt at the end!
