- 1/2 english cucumber peeled and finely grated, see note
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt see note
- 3 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh baby dill
- 1 tablespoon fresh-squeezed lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper or to taste
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
Stir together Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, dill, salt, and pepper.
Taste, add salt and pepper if needed.
Cover and chill until ready to serve.
Greek yogurt: For the best, most flavorful tzatziki, I recommend using full-fat plain Greek yogurt. I have used reduced fat and non-fat with good results, but my favorite is definitely the full-fat option for best flavor!
Cucumber: squeeze the grated cucumber, wrapped in paper towels or in your hands, over the sink to get rid of excess liquid before adding to the tzatziki sauce mixture.
