Good morning!
Or afternoon. Or midnight. I have no idea when you’ll be reading this. But hopefully at some point you’ll be taking a quick glance at this in the morning time because you’ll be whipping up this oaty berry refreshing goodness for yourself. And when you do….
Good morning sunshine.

This is a two-step recipe you’re going to love. (Can you really even call it a recipe when it only has two steps??)
Step 1 – dump everything in blender.
Step 2 – blend to creamy perfection.
Step 2.5 – slurp your way to an excellent morning.

So when will this be happening for you? Tomorrow for a mid-week pick-me-up? Saturday for a weekend hoorah! ? How about we ditch the breakfast part and just make it right now?
Yeah I like that idea.

Berry Oat Breakfast Smoothie
Ingredients
- ½ cup old fashioned rolled oats
- 1 cup milk - (more as needed)
- ½ cup frozen berries
- 3 tablespoons honey - (or to taste)
- ⅓ cup vanilla yogurt - or greek yogurt
- ¼ cup ice
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a blender. Cover tightly and pulse until ice is broken up, then puree until smooth. Taste and add sweeter if needed or milk if it is too thick. Serve immediately.
I do a variation of this with 1/2 a frozen banana and soy milk.
Could this be included as a meal replacement? Could you add things to make it a meal replacement>
Can I put maple syrup instead of honey?
Could I ask how many calories are in each serving please?
I found this when i googled smoothies for weightloss. It was the first one i tried and i have had one pretty much every day for 5 weeks. I love it, I don’t normally choose berries but i wanted something to blend with oats. Oh boy does this hit the mark. 3 spoons of honey is a lot and i should cut that down but i just wanted to say thanks for sharing a great recipe.
Really want to try this, but do you have any nutritional info for this?
Hi Krissi! I don’t have nutrition stats on hand but my favorite source is http://www.myfitnesspal.com – you can just plug in my url for this recipe and it will calculate nutrition stats for you!
What is the nutrition information?
You can find it using My Fitness Pal. They have an awesome online tool where you can input any recipe URL into and it will generate that information for you! 🙂
Would this be the right smoothie to use not only to be healthier but also aid in losing weight?
I just tried this recipe this morning and I absolutely loved it! It was very yummy! I used almond milk instead of regular milk as the only change. I want to try adding raspberries next time. Thanks so much for the recipe!!!(This was my first time making a smoothie!)
Are you able to freeze them? As I have to make up a batch of drinks and freeze them?
Hi Danni, I haven’t tried freezing them but I’d love to hear how it goes if you give it a try!
Lovely recipe, been making it for my breakfast for the past few days. I ran out of milk and have been using Coconut Drink for the past 2 mornings and I much prefer it! Give it a try, less calories!!
This recipe was simple, quick, and delicious! I added strawberries.
YUM! I haven’t tried an oatmeal smoothie yet – combining two of our favorite things…. Pinning it now to my berry breakfast board!
I LOVE adding oats to my smoothies – makes it tastes more breakfast-y and adds an oaty texture and taste, so yummy!
I’d love to feature this in a summer berry breakfast roundup I’m doing…. please let me know if you’d be okay with use of one image and link back to you! Delicious!
Hi Joann – Feel free to grab a picture from the post and use a link back to my site for the recipe! Thanks! 🙂
My daughter has been asking me to make her a smoothie every day. I’m so happy to have a new recipe to try for her!
This looks perfect for breakfast on the go Tiffany!
YESSSS. Looks so so yummy! I love the texture that oats adds to a smoothie!
