Good morning!

Or afternoon. Or midnight. I have no idea when you’ll be reading this. But hopefully at some point you’ll be taking a quick glance at this in the morning time because you’ll be whipping up this oaty berry refreshing goodness for yourself. And when you do….

Good morning sunshine.

This is a two-step recipe you’re going to love. (Can you really even call it a recipe when it only has two steps??)

Step 1 – dump everything in blender.

Step 2 – blend to creamy perfection.

Step 2.5 – slurp your way to an excellent morning.

So when will this be happening for you? Tomorrow for a mid-week pick-me-up? Saturday for a weekend hoorah! ?  How about we ditch the breakfast part and just make it right now?

Yeah I like that idea.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup milk , (more as needed)
  • ½ cup frozen berries
  • 3 tablespoons honey, (or to taste)
  • cup vanilla yogurt, or greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup ice

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a blender. Cover tightly and pulse until ice is broken up, then puree until smooth. Taste and add sweeter if needed or milk if it is too thick. Serve immediately.

I do a lot of smoothits. I do them to improve my weight and health. It would be nice if you would include the purpose of your recipes, healthy, weight loss, or fattening treat. What Does this group of Berries, oats, honey, milk and ice do for you?

This is so good! I love oats in a smoothie. I changed the recipe a little bit and used whip cream instead of yogurt and still tasted great.

Sounds delicious to me! Thanks for sharing your idea, Bethany!

  3. Erin says:

Just tried this for the first time this morning and I love it! Would it make a difference in texture of flavor if I added more than half a cup of berries?

    1. Tiffany says:

It would a little but I don’t think it would hurt it too bad! Give it a try! 🙂

Delicious! Threw some avocado in for good measure and used 1 tbsp of honey.

  5. Monica C says:

I really don’t understand why this recipe is given when oats and milk are listed in the headline article as in the top 15 most acidic foods and we are cautioned to minimize these foods to assure we are not overdosing our bodies on acid-forming foods.

    Why not offer an alternative?

  6. Lori says:

I do a variation of this with 1/2 a frozen banana and soy milk.

Could this be included as a meal replacement? Could you add things to make it a meal replacement>

Can I put maple syrup instead of honey?

Could I ask how many calories are in each serving please?

I found this when i googled smoothies for weightloss. It was the first one i tried and i have had one pretty much every day for 5 weeks. I love it, I don’t normally choose berries but i wanted something to blend with oats. Oh boy does this hit the mark. 3 spoons of honey is a lot and i should cut that down but i just wanted to say thanks for sharing a great recipe.
