Skinny Pineapple Smoothie

My love affair with ice cream has been thriving since I was just a little tyke. (I’m still little, but I like to think I’m no longer  a tyke) I was an adamant chocolate lover for years but eventually, I realized there is more goodness in this world than chocolate-chocolate-chocolate. Note: chocolate is still my fav, but my heart has made room for other yumminess. Frozen creamy pineapple yumminess is high on my list of loves.

DLand Pineapple Whip? Ohhhh yeah. If you haven’t experienced a Dole Pineapple Whip from DisneyLand you are seriously, seriously missing out. But this tastes a lot like it folks, and it is a SKINNY Pineapple Smoothie. All the flavor without the calories, fat, and crazy amounts of sugar? BIG win in my book! Cause then, I don’t feel so bad having a smoothie for breakfast. Or at midnight. Or …. both.

  • 1 cup frozen pineapple
  • 1/2 medium banana
  • 1/2 cup crushed ice
  • 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt (or greek vanilla yogurt)
  • 1 1/2 cups fat free milk OR coconut milk

  • Add pineapple, banana, yogurt and ice to blender. Add 1 cup of the milk. Pulse until mixture is smooth. Add more milk about 1/4 cup at a time until desired consistency is reached (I wanted to be able to slurp mine with a straw and it ended up being about 1 1/2 cups of milk). Pour into a glass and drink up!

***DAIRY FREE OPTION: use coconut milk and leave out the yogurt.

It’s aapproaching bikini season here and the muffin top I’ve acquired this winter will appreciate this!!! I always adore your recipes and photographs… beautiful!

This drink looks incredible. I’m printing it,as I write this. Found you via Pinterest and happy I did. I love Chocolate!!! But, agree that it’s great to enjoy other things, such as pineapple. Pinned for the flavors and the low calories.

Hi ..
I posted your article on my Google+ page and it is doing extremely well

See it for yourself:

    thanks for sharing!! 🙂

This is my most popular Smoothie I drink. Either with the Coconut Milk or sometimes I use V8 Tropical fruit juices such as Peach Mango, Strawberry Kiwi, etc. Not the V8 Smoothie brand either. However I cheat a little and use aprox a cup of frozen yogurt plain vanilla vs any non fat yogurt & ice. My basic all the time Smoothie sometimes add frozen mixed fruit as in strawberry’s, peach’s, etc. Sometimes I add fresh peaches. Always use same mixes, Either Coconut Milk, V8 Tropical, & Frz Van yogurt. Looking for new ideas. Thanks for sharing some!!

FANTASTIC!!! I just made this, but I used kefir instead of yogurt and I used unsweetened coconut milk. I was so sad when it was all gone. I’m thinking maybe some Malibu Rum added to it would be awesome on a hot summer night 🙂

hi I made this smoothie today. I have read and tried many different smoothie recipes but something made this one different. I think it was the addition of milk. I found the recipe made enough for 2 which was fine with me, I drank all of if myself lol. I don’t like bananas so I just left it out and my pineapple wasn’t frozen so I added a bit of crushed ice. I really liked it. I don’t like thick smoothies and found the addition of milk really made this smoothie good. thanks for the recipe!

What a delicious treat, Tiffany! I suppose almond milk can also be used, if preferred. I love the color!

this looks amazing!!! I’m not a big fan of berries and this doesn’t have any! I’m gonna try it!

What’s the nutritional info? On WW and want to know how I can fit this special treat in my day!

Would canned pineapple work??

Fresh/frozen is probably a lot better, I haven’t tried canned!

Unfortunately I found the banana completely took over any pineapple flavour

I completely agree. If youre making this hoping for a great pineapple smoothie, the banana will dictate matters greatly. I wouldnt omit it completely as it clearly adds a rich creaminess to the drink. I’d try reducing the amount to 1/4 banana or 1/2 of one that is barely ripe as they dont yet have the stronger and distinctive banana flavor. I also added a small squeeze of agave sweetner to reduce the bitterness of the frozen pineapple. Overall, this is a great recipe that produces a smoothie that youd swear had ice cream in it! You can easily control the thickness by adding the milk slowly as it mixes.

This was perfect, so yummy. Just right for a hot day. I didn’t have any milk or coconut milk, all I had was almond milk. It was still good.

Hello, am allergic to bananas and intolerant to dairy products is it possible to make that smoothie without the banana at all?

Looking for the calorie count on this?

How many calories are in this?

I don’t have the nutritional info on hand for this recipe, but MyFitnessPal has an awesome tool that calculates all that out for you! Here’s the link: It’s free and all you do it copy and paste the recipe URL into the Recipe Importer and it will tell you everything you need to know! 🙂

What can I substitute the yogurt for?

Hi Zoe- are you trying to avoid the dairy? I typically recommend that smoothies be made with yogurt for consistency reasons! If it’s not a dairy issue, then perhaps maybe buttermilk or something alike could work. I suppose that you could try using an avocado if you are avoiding dairy? However, that does ramp up the calorie amounts. Not exactly sure for this one! Sorry!

This was delicious, quiCk and easy. Thanx for posting this.
Do you think watermelon would also work in this?

Hi Karin- I can’t say for sure because I haven’t done it… but it probably could! Sometimes watermelon is more juicy than pineapple, thats my only hesitation. But I’d love to hear the turnout if you try it!!
