I make a lot of food. No surprise there. I make breakfasts, snacks, desserts, dinners, sauces, and things that fall somehow into the miscellaneous category. Some recipes turn out really really good. Some are eh, one time things. A lot are sad pitiful disasters that result in last minute take out.
And a select few are oh-my-gosh so freaking good I could cry.

This is one of the latter recipes. The ones that make me think I could probably be a famous chef. Or baker. Or just feed my future children super well some day. And I will. As long as all they want is Maple Pecan Apple Pie Bars.

Remember when I said I nearly ate the very last of a recipe because it was so delicious and that I almost had to tell you about it without pictures? Luckily I saved a couple scraps to photograph for you. But really. I made a whole pan of these and basically ate the entire thing with a fork over the course of two days.

These look delicious! But where I live we don’t have maple extract(Europe)
What else could you suggest?
Oh dear, we definitely need to introduce maple extract over there, it’s a staple in my kitchen!! However, for this recipe I would suggest making the frosting with the same amount of powdered sugar and using several tablespoons of real maple syrup for the maple flavor. Taste-test as you add the syrup and when you have the right flavor, then add milk if necessary to make the frosting a pourable consistency.
These sure look amazing!! I would love to have a few right now 🙂
Made them……AND……..FANTASTIC! Quick and delish!!! Just the way I roll.
I’m so glad you liked them! Seriously one of my favorite recipes EVER!!
If you become a famous chef, I’ll be sure to come!
Phew, I’ll have at least one fan then!! Ha, thanks Shikka!
These look out of this world.
Thank you so much Megan, this is one of my all time favs yet!!
i’m not typically drawn to maple goodies but these ahhhhh – yum!!
This is pure beauty. Pure beauty.
Where did you get the maple extract from? I haven’t seen that in the store. Can pure maple syrup be used instead? Thanks
I wouldn’t suggest using maple syrup. You can find maple extract at most grocery stores with the vanilla and peppermint and almond extract!!
Lovely recipe. I will definitely try it!
These look so good! Not to mention they don’t see too difficult to make, which is always a plus in my book :).
